As for the answer to yesterday's mystery object game: the cloth is from Ghana, which is significant to GlobeMed not only because GlobeMed at Northwestern is working there, but because it represents the first partnership that a GlobeMed chapter ever formed with a group of grassroots health leaders in another country. Since forming that partnership in 2005, GlobeMed's model shifted from one of just collecting medical supplies or sending money, to one of working in pragmatic solidarity with partners all over the world.

Today's hint: There's an irony to the way the National Office takes care of its own health when looked at in the context of what GlobeMed is trying to accomplish.
To keep things exciting while still giving you helpful hints to prepare for the challenge, National Office staff members will post one short video to this blog every night from now until October 13th at 8pm CST.

Not only will you get to know each staff member, you’ll learn about different tricks and tools to help you have a successful October 13th (and potentially earning $5,000 for your partner and project!!).

For a fun twist, each staff member will have an object that is symbolic of an aspect of GlobeMed. We’ll give you some hints about what significance the object has, but if you’re up for it, leave a comment describing the connection that you think the object has to GlobeMed. The answer will be posted in the blog the following day, along with the next installment of the countdown videos.

Today's Hint: The cloth Jon has around his neck is from Ghana. What is unique about Ghana for the GlobeMed network as a whole?

Get ready for an exciting countdown!
